L’Approche Finale de L’Oiseau Blanc (The Final Approach of The White Bird) It is the morning of May 9,1927. The White Bird has crossed the Atlantic and reached Newfoundland only to suffer a burst coolant line. With the airplane trailing steam from the overheating engine, Nungesser and Coli make an approach for a forced landing on Great Gull Pond. Disaster awaits at a small rocky island partially obscured by ground fog. Commissioned by TIGHAR and painted by Robert E. Gillespie of Glenspeed Art. 11” by 14” print on heavy stock, when matted will fit standard 16” by 20” frame. Each print hand-signed by the artist and TIGHAR Executive Director Ric Gillespie $50 plus shipping.
